Wilderness Adventures
Camp Onaway is nestled in the midst of the woods and lakes of New Hampshire, just south of the White Mountains. With so much to explore, our campers regularly take their hiking, canoeing, and swimming skills into the wilderness. These trips provide girls an opportunity to grow in confidence, rely on each other, and live simply.

Explore New Hampshire
Onaway’s long history has always involved exciting and rewarding trips. During the first three weeks of camp, each girl is out of camp for at least one day hike and one age appropriate overnight with her cabin group.

Even our very youngest campers learn how to camp responsibly while having fun! Our trips counselors are experienced and knowledgeable, often having done the trip several times as a camper.

During the second half of the summer, day trips continue to be offered and each girl signs up for a one to four day overnight trip based on her level of experience. We offer choices in canoeing, backpacking, base camping and staying in AMC huts.
We are dedicated to sustainable outdoor exploration through our LEAVE NO TRACE commitment, ensuring every camper leaves our natural spaces better than they were found.
Â
Safety remains our absolute priority. Our entire staff maintains Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications, with specialized guides often holding advanced Wilderness First Responder credentials. Additionally, any waterfront activities are supervised by certified lifeguards. Every season begins with a thorough safety orientation to prepare campers for their upcoming adventures.

By the end of the summer, your daughter will have mastered building shelters, navigating trails, and preparing meals in the heart of nature.
