Giving Back

Thank you for believing in the mission of Camp Onaway! For over a century, amidst the inspiring natural landscape of New Hampshire, Onaway has been teaching girls to live simply, creatively and harmoniously with nature and with one another, to find their natural gifts and strengths, and to be confident, caring leaders.

An Onaway education is funded by three sources: Tuition from camper families, the Onaway Fund from annual donations, and the Onaway Endowment – a draw on Onaway’s investments. Tuition covers about 70% of the annual budget. Your generosity is the key to Onaway’s ability to serve the girls and young women who spend summers at Onaway. We can’t thank you enough for your powerful support.

The Onaway Fund - ending September 30 anually

Think of the Onaway Fund as our checking or debit account. Annual gifts are deposited and fully spent in the same year to supplement tuition and support all aspects of camp including maintenance of facilities, staff training, scholarships, and the care and keeping of the girls for seven weeks. There are several ways to give to the Onaway Fund:

01

You can give once, or join Onaway All Year monthly giving, digitally by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

02

Giving by Check or Donor Advised Funds

To make a donation by check, please make check payable to “Onaway Camp Trust” and mail to P.O. Box 339 Glenside, PA 19038

03

This may be easily accomplished with a transfer to Onaway’s brokerage account at Vanguard. Please let us know if you do this so we can credit you!

04

Double the Joy of Giving! Matching Gifts by your employer let you DOUBLE the impact of your contribution.

Support The Onaway Endowment

Think of the Onaway Endowment as our savings account or investment portfolio. Gifts are invested and only a small portion is spent each year, approximately 4-5%, so the principle can grow and give Onaway a secure foundation, a source of annual income and a safety net for future unexpected challenges. Gifts to the endowment come in two forms: unrestricted gifts, to be used for any purpose Onaway deems necessary, and restricted gifts donated for a specific use, such as scholarships, staff training or a specific camp activity.

In addition to the Onaway General Endowment Fund, Onaway holds a number of funds for scholarships and various camp programs.

Campfire Rock Society (Planned Giving)

We invite you to join the Campfire Rock Society – a growing group of individuals who are making decisions now to protect the future of Onaway. You don't need to wait until retirement to make this decision. Together, our future giving will ensure Onaway stays on stable ground for the next generations.

There are many ways of supporting Onaway through a planned gift such as a simple bequest, or donating assets from your qualified retirement plan, like your IRA or 401(k), or giving a portion of a life insurance policy.

Volunteer with us

Volunteering is a wonderful way to support Onaway. Join us for Onaway Work Weekend in June. See our events page for details. Have fun with other alumnae, families and friends while helping us get camp in ship-shape for the summer! If you would like to be involved, reach out to Brooke Peterson, Director of Advancement.

01

Late Spring Work Weekend

Before the start of the summer camp season each year volunteers gather to prepare camp facilities and grounds for the counselors. We rake paths, paint, open tennis courts, and have fun together with some typical Onaway activities.

02

Open Houses

Throughout each year, we look for families across the nation who are willing to help host and organize open houses for prospective families.

03

Regional Gatherings

As we strengthen our regional networks, we love when Onaway alumnae and families want to connect with each other in smaller, organized regional events.
