Nestled

Sitting upon the rock,
Sitting on the large wooden chapel benches,
Hearing the wind in the pines,
Warming in the sun on the sandy beach,
Snuggling in the sleeping bag in the Log Cabin,
Camping in the lean-tos
Today just like then…
Thirty years seems so long ago
But so little has changed,
When you can nestle in the warmth
Of sweet memories and find it now.

Another Day

The sun shone down with all its might
upon the dark and starry night,
and with its glow the silence broke
for a little girl, awakening spoke.
“Another day, another dream,” said she,
and believed with all her heart this could be.
And as everyone else slept,
in her heart this quote she kept.
thinking today this might come true,
though she really had not a clue,
that when her elders woke and showered
how much her dreams they would be cowered,
and as her brain went, went the
day, in it’s dull and pointless way.
Still in her heart she could not keep
the thought at bay.
To everyone else normal she did seem,
though in her heart she lived a dream.

The Cabin

Alone again, winters snow makes it for sure, but history of fun
and life lie on your walls.   Soon when summers sun come your door
will open to joyful life again and more history will come.   Life lives
in history for the cabin on the hill.

The Rain Game

I can swallow this fleshy darkness
In the hush of hands.
It is thick enough to swim in–
Deeper than snow would be,
And more powerful than I anticipated.
The light reflections that scatter through
cannot cut it.
The keep me concentrated.
Serve as posts,
to mark the entirety of the darkness.
As the storm comes throug,
I am anxious and afraid.
But with its peak, the train–thunder,
Deep shadow forgives me
For patterns I hate
For the me I cannot change.

A Friend

A friend is a special person.
A person you love and care for.
A person who has a special meaning,
A special place in your heart.
A true friend will last a lifetime.
Friends are there for each other,
Help each other,
Love each other,
Care for each other,
And most importantly need each other.
Be there for them,
Help them in their time of need.
The may not show it, but they need you.
When you’re afraid, let them know,
They can help.
Keep your friend close and love them.
Tell them that they are needed and loved.
