Welcome to Camp Onaway
For over 100 years Camp Onaway has been providing girls a place to thrive and grow. In the natural setting of our unpressured and accepting community, a girl can come to know her own strengths, her values and her goodness.

Learning New Skills
Our daily program offers instruction in traditional camp activities such as sailing, canoeing, crew, tennis, and swimming. The camper’s schedule is a combination of structured classes and optional activities, insuring that each girl is building new skills as well as concentrating on her favorite activities.

Exploring Creativity
Onaway’s extensive arts program includes drama, dance, singing, woodworking, arts and crafts, ceramics, photography and sewing. Informal skits and improvisations as well as formal productions are part of every summer.

Appreciating the Outdoors
Onaway has an active Trip and Outdoor Education program. Hiking through the near-by White Mountains, canoeing on lakes and rivers, and observing the beauty of our immediate surroundings provide girls the opportunity to push their physical limits and to reflect on their impact on the environment.

Developing Character
At Onaway we emphasize the importance of community. Values such as honor, respect, generosity and co-operation are woven into our daily lives through interactions with each other, contributions to the overall well-being of the members of the community, and opportunities for reflection and conversation.

Creating Lasting Friendships
Most of our campers return summer after summer. The size of the community and the structure of the program encourage friendships to form on all age levels. Girls are welcomed and accepted for who they are and what they bring to the community.

Honoring Traditions
From sacred, time-honored rituals to silly traditions, Onaway thrives on the stability and security that traditions true to our mission provide. Onaway has changed over the last 100 years, but a camper from the early years would still find much that is familiar.

welcome-alt2 Camp Onaway is a traditional residential summer camp for girls located on Newfound Lake in Hebron, NH. For generations Onaway has provided girls with a place to discover their best selves.

The emphasis on growth and personal development comes at a time when girls most need positive influences and support. Combining fun and laughter with sound character development, Onaway provides an outstanding camp experience for girls of all ages.

The magic of an Onaway summer is found in the return to simple living, the close bonds formed between campers and counselors and the feeling of community that comes from spending seven weeks together.
